Only God Knows the Future

Tuvalu is small and almost cannot be seen on the map. It has beautiful Islands full of trees and has a big lagoon. Since I was six years old, many people have come to Tuvalu to do research about climate change. They told us that there were only six more years, and then Tuvalu will be gone. Some of the people were scared but most of them have faith in what God says in the Bible: “Many people will talk just like Jesus, talking about things that will happen ahead of them of the future.” And God also said that there is only one person that knows the future, and that is God. So people of Tuvalu do not believe what the scientists or the people that came to do research said.

Six years later it didn’t look like Tuvalu was sinking, so I was so happy and I still have faith in God because what God said in the Bible was true. I will never believe anyone else, only God. But this year there were also many people that came from overseas talking about the same thing, climate change.

But, for me, there is no such thing as ‘climate change’ happening in Tuvalu. Sea level rise is true, it is happening. It has happened every year since I was born but it has had no bad impact on us.
